Best deodorant for men is a label that men assign to different deodorants as a matter of course. In assigning this label, each man has a particular set of criteria in mind.
It goes without saying that these criteria are not set in stone: The features that one man prioritizes might mean little to another man.
Some men select deodorants on the basis of their form. Deodorants come in different forms. They include sticks, gels and sprays. Sticks and gels are especially commonly used. They are relatively easy to apply to the underarms. However, the gels are problematic because they leave the armpits moist. One actually has to dry the armpits after using them. Only then can he dress up for the day. Drying the arm pits entails wiping some of the gel off. This might negatively affect the effectiveness of the deodorant. However, the alternative, which involves leaving the armpits moist, would result in the staining and discoloration of one’s shirts.
Sticks are often praised as being especially effective. They are less problematic than gels in that they do not contain too much moisture. However, they have the capacity to leave residue on one’s shirts.
Sprays function differently. They are sprayed onto the body and armpits using an aerosol can. Unfortunately, some of them do not last as long as the sticks or roll-on gels, especially on hot days when one sweats excessively. Also, with sprays, one has to worry about an additional factor: the environmental-friendliness of the product. It is best for one to seek out products that do not contain chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs). The ones that contain CFCs do a lot of damage to the ozone layer.
All of the above products have the capacity to cause skin irritation. Sometimes this is the result of allergic responses to their ingredients. Other times, their ingredients are simply irritants that negatively affect the skin of anybody who uses them. The latter tends to occur when one is using low quality products. To avoid this kind of scenario, it is best to ensure that one is using products manufactured by reputable companies. Brands that have existed for long usually fit in this category. One could also seek out product reviews on consumer websites, where people take the time to critique and rank cosmetic products such as deodorants. These reviews can actually help one to identify, with minimal effort, the best deodorant for men.
